A very interesting phenomenon is taking place in Congress. The gun grabbers are jumping on board by cosponsoring just about all the anti gun bills.
This is on the eve of Dianne Feinstein’s AWB bill (S: 150) which is scheduled for the Senate Judicial Committee hearing tomorrow (Feb 27, 2013). They appear to be circling the wagons, but in a cloud of dust.
If all these new cosponsors actually vote for the particular bill, ON THE FLOOR, is a different story. Midterm elections are NOT that far away. The public’s memory is slowly improving.
For example:
H.R. 142: Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2013. ...Two new cosponsors.
H.R. 137: Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013.....FOURTEEN new cosponsors.
H.R. 141: Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2013...Three new cosponsors.
H.R. 138: Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act.....Eight new cosponsors.
H.R. 321: Firearm Safety and Public Health Research Act of 2013.....Five new cosponsors.
Another interesting aspect is all of the above bills were introduced by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy [D-NY4]. While anyone can symphonize with her loss due to a shooting, she is blaming the ‘TOOL’ rather then the criminal. On December 7, 1993, her husband, Dennis, was killed and her son, Kevin, severely injured on a Long Island Rail Road commuter train at the Merillon Avenue station, when spree killer, Colin Ferguson, opened fire on passengers.....
By far, the vast majority of bills introduced by Rep. McCarthy regards guns rather than the criminal. If we are to use her criteria, not only should SHE not be able to own a gun, but by the same criteria, she should not be a member of the House.
But who are we to question our democracy.....oops “ Our Republic”, which is crumbling into a democracy. Democracy, through history fails.
We are not a ‘Democracy’, we are a ‘REPUBLIC’. If in doubt, just check the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. The word ‘democracy’ will not be found.
