The bloody tradition of banning guns
Societies where guns were ban saw massacres of the people in the millions! Nazi Germany accounted for the murder of 15 to 31 million people, one million children under the age of eighteen. (See “Democide: Nazi Genocide and Mass Murder” Chapter 1)
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make is to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdog is a sin qua non for the over throw of any sovereignty. So let’s not have any militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country.” – Adolf Hitler
In an article “America In Chains, The Death of Freedom” subtitled “Forward to the Dawn of Communism” dictators and gun control are discussed. “In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. By 1987 that figure had risen to 61, 911,000.”
“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.” – Joseph Stallin
In the worlds recent history there has been a cavalcade of dictators following the method of Hitler and Stallin. Benito Mussolini, Italy 1931, Mao Tze Tung, China 1938, Pol Pot Cambodia, 1975, Fidel Castro, Cuba, Hugo Chavez of Venezuala
From an article, “Head in the Clouds: The Left and Disarming of America, July 22, 2012, Spencer Wolf writes:
Here’s a quick rundown of what a less than benevolent government can do to its own ‘bothersome’ people:
-1926 The Soviet Union government disarmed its citizens. From 1929-1953, 20 million Russian civilians killed.
-1935 Nationalist China disarmed its citizens. From 1927-1949, 10 million Chinese citizens killed. 1949-1976, Red China, 20-35 million killed
-1938 Nazi, Germany disarmed its citizens. From 1938-1945, 16 million Jews, Gypsies, “critics”, and political opponents killed.
-1956 Cambodia disarmed its citizens. 1975-1979, 2 million citizens killed
-1964 Guatemala disarmed its citizens, 1964-1981, 100,000 to 200,000 Mayan Indians and “political opponents” killed.
-1979 Rwanda disarmed its citizens, 1994, 800,000 Tutsi killed.
If liberals think the massacre of twenty six people trumps the kind of massacres that leaders of countries have committed, killing tens of millions, against their people once disarmed, their thinking is warped and distorted. Then the left's push for gun control is more about the motivation of dictators than the safety of the populations!
