Saturday, January 19th has been declared "Gun Appreciation Day" and gun owners, gun rights activists and defenders of the Second Amendment are being called upon to participate by attending gun shows, gun stores and go to gun ranges to show their support.
Said Gun Appreciation Day chairman Larry Ward, according to a press release announcing the planned demonstration, “If the American people don’t fight back now, Obama will do the Second Amendment what he has already done to the First with Obamacare – gut it without a moment’s thought to our basic constitutional rights.”
The event is also supported by The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF).
Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the 650,000-supporter Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, also endorsed Gun Appreciation Day in a press release on Monday:
Millions of law-abiding firearms owners are not about to be penalized for the unconscionable act of a madman. We will not all be judged by the conduct of a single crazy person. Our intent is to telegraph a message to Congress and state legislatures around the country that trampling our rights is not an acceptable solution to violent crimes committed by people who don't care about laws, much less the lives of the people they harm.

Because of the tragic massacre at Newtown, Connecticut , the shameless gun grabbers have ramped up gun control legislation including gun, ammunition registration and even confiscation. This is an assault on the United States Constitution and legal, law-abiding gun owners. Vice President Joe Biden has suggested that the President may bi-pass Congress by passing gun control by Executive Orders.
Recently, a New York Newspaper recently ran a story that reported the names and addresses of legal gun owners, complete with names, addresses and a map of their location. Many gun rights advocates have held that these gun owners privacy rights have been violated and have made them targets of violent criminals and stalkers. Watch the video of one of these "outted" gun owners, Fox News Anchor, Judge Janine Pirro HERE.
