Why should the any government have first dibs on some really great guns and guns with historical value?
Why should any local police department or sheriff's dept. have the pick of the litter on some great guns?
One thing that the media is doing well is covering all the gun buyback programs all across the country with the goal being to make us all feel safer with the misnomer that these guns have been removed off the streets. Despite the fact that these programs do very little to reduce violent gun crime it's time for gun rights advocates and 2nd Amendment supporters to put their money where it counts: buying up these guns and offering more than the state and local governments are spending. Personally I don't want my hard earned Tax dollars to be used on a useless "feel good" program that does nothing to reduce crime or gun violence.
"Missing the target: a comparison of buyback and fatality related guns". Handguns recovered in buyback programs are not the types most commonly linked to firearm homicides and suicides. Although buyback programs may increase awareness of firearm violence, limited resources for firearm injury prevention may be better spent in other ways.
There are probably some killer deals to be had out there! Besides if you are a true weapons and firearm connoisseur why let these great weapons be destroyed by government bureaucrats or those who have little or no appreciation for these weapons.
Despite all the gun buyback programs being implemented across the country and ALL the Feel Good that goes with supposedly getting all these guns off the streets, essentially they are a BIG WASTE of TIME! They are a means of pre-conditioning people for Mandatory Gun buyback programs!
Remember when Gov. Cuomo said that gun confiscation could be an option. Well does anyone believe that the government or any politician would have the gall to say that or even use that word? The goal is still the same buy the verbiage is softer. Let's use some historical examples:
- Pro Abortion: for or in support of killing and murdering unborn Fetuses = "Pro Choice". Sounds so progressive and supportive of women's rights. Result: Life is denied, fetus killed!
- Death penalty: sounds bad, extreme, maybe an innocent will be convicted. Result: call it "Capital Punishment" and no we are not talking about the IRS here. As such recidivism rates are high and felons live amongst us...right down the street you have a felon living near you!
- Illegal Immigrant: no you cant say they are "illegal", they are "undocumented immigrants". Sounds so much better than "illegal". They just don't have their documents? What documents? Like a Drivers License we give those out to anyone in New Mexico!
- Torture: no the US doesn't do that or support that! It's "Enhanced Interrogation" you know the kind when your wife asks where you have been?
Let's face it all these gun buyback programs are a pre-conditioning for "Mandatory" Buyback programs.... sounds OK, right? They are just buying back the guns and paying you for them right? Well it's essentially CONFISCATION made to sound FAIR! There is nothing FAIR about any American having their rights denied!
Next time you here about a gun buyback program go hit the ATM machine and get some cold, hard CASH. Offer to pay more for the guns than the stupid gift cards they are offering. Bring your CCW license with you and tell the idiot who's ready to hand over his/her gun that you are a law abiding citizen who has submitted to a state and federal background check to be licensed as a "Concealed Carry Licensee" or CCW and as such are a citizen in good standing with no felony convictions and want to pay them for their guns.
It's time for the law abiding gun owners in this country to stand up for our rights and put our MONEY where are MOUTHS are....Time to Act! If people are too stupid to know what's happening, too stupid to know these programs are a waste of time and do essentially nothing then .... Let's buy up the Guns!
