Many people are very very worried about the fate of the Nation. It doesn't happen overnight but Khrushchev once stated that America would fall without a shot being fired.
There is a grave danger in the way Government uses tragedy to wrestle away our liberties. More than lives, buildings and peace where lost when the towers fell. Americans lost privacy, presumption of innocence, probable cause, illegal search and seizure and much much more. Under the Homeland Security new Federal laws supersede State laws. In Illinois hundreds of new laws were passed including a law that a photograph is not required on a Drivers license if the applicant has religious objections. Referred to as the 'Amish Law' this was framed as a protection of the first amendment right. The same time in Illinois firearm owners are required to have a picture ID. In an effort to make us 'safer' ALL of our online, mobile and 'public' communication is monitored and law enforcement may install wiretapping without a warrant.
Supporters of health care reform feel that all Americans should have access to affordable health care. When the indigent go to a hospital they already receive free care . Americans pay for it through higher health costs and higher insurance premiums. Obamacare isn't about handing out free health care. But........but... as the people argued over passing or not passing a bill instead of focusing on modifying what is in the bill. A health care bill was passed that includes the appointing of 17,000 new IRS agents.
The IRS is the most powerful government entity for the seizing of property and assets from citizens. Now they may very well have overwhelming power and access to every American citizen whether they are employed or not. Republicans and Democrats are responsible. The Democrats designed this bill and the Republicans like a bunch of adolescents folded their arms and sat there pouting with an all or nothing attitude. Republicans are now spending millions of tax payer dollars in fruitless lawsuits to overturn a bill which they have no chance of overturning.
How many Republicans were talking about the 17,000 IRS agents in the bill? There was one voice rising above the din and that was Ron Paul. If they had focused on this point don't you think more Americans would have been concerned? There are not many who are comfortable with the IRS having more control and more authority. How does the IRS fit into a health care bill? Well, the Supreme Court rightly declared that this bill is a tax.
This goes far beyond the matter of health. The IRS is the 'reapers' of the government. Look through history and literature in what we know of tax issues for Romans and those they conquered, Great Britain and the newly founded Colonial Sates even the fictional depiction of Nottingham and their Sheriff, taxes and the authority to levy them have represented the heavy hand of authority and wielded over their minions. One of the surest methods for controlling the masses.
Politicians are failing in more ways that are even realized. It doesn't help the cause when politicians refuse to compromise or negotiate, or when they direct focus of our attention away from that which is most important to mundane and trivial pursuits. When fanatics like pro gun supporter Alex Jones rant and scream at Pierce Morgan, it only serves to scare the timid into allowing rights to be taken away.

In effort to reduce drunk driving Police Officers have been granted the power to seize your drivers license at a checkpoint if you refuse to take a sobriety test. If it is your right to refuse then how can they immediately enforce punishment for exercising that right? No due process no presumption of innocence. This is not just about drunk driving. Some people may say, 'well if you haven't been drinking you have nothing to worry about'. Certainly we have no fear that law enforcement will abuse their power, right?
What is next? Imagine if you refuse to allow a search of your car or house and so they seize your car or property. You refuse to testify against a spouse and then you are held in contempt. Once a policy of making concessions concerning your constitutional rights sets in it will continue to grow and erode more liberties. Under Communist regimes people live in fear with a psychology of guilt and mistrust even when they are not guilty of anything..
Could this be the future of America? No, perhaps before it comes to that citizens might rise up and revolt. This might well breed anarchy. Could that lead to the collapse or the nation? Roman Senators became engulfed in debates and dialog of trivia and minutia. What happened to them? If American citizens do not unite, demand results from their politicians, take the reigns of power back from the wealthy and influential then Americans may very well chatter themselves into the abyss.
