Town Criers Back on the Streets
The Town Crier Committee, a committee of the Saint Augustine Tea Party (SATP), organized a Gun Appreciation Day event, today. Support for the 2nd Amendment was planned across the country. Gun shows, gun dealers, firing ranges, and State Capitals were the sites for the demonstrations. The events were attended by persons numbering from a dozen or so to several thousand.
There were numerous events across Florida.
In St. Augustine, Gun Appreciation Day took place along US 1 South in front of Ace Firearms. The arms dealer is located at 2570 US 1 South, St. Augustine, Florida. This location was chosen, not only, because of the high visibility along US 1 but also to show our appreciation for the quality service Ace Firearms provides to the community. Several members of the Putnam County Tea Party and their Chairman, Stan Owens, also engaged in the ‘gun rights’ demonstration.
Second Amendment alive and well in St. Johns County…..
Based on the continuous support of the passing motorists along the highway, the Second Amendment is alive and well in St. Johns County. There were numerous thumbs-up and honking horns to show support. In addition to the public support, the local print media, The St. Augustine Record, sent a reporter and photographer to cover the event. An accurate account of the day appeared on the front page of the Sunday Record.
