In the aftermath of the December shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, there have been cries from the President of the United States on down in favor of gun control.
Gun Appreciation Day provides gun owners the opportunity to let their opposition to gun control be heard by Congress and President Obama.
On January 19, Gun Appreciation Day will be held throughout the country. On this day, gun owners and those opposed to gun control are invited to visit gun shows, gun stores and shooting ranges to let their voices be heard.
Gun owners and supporters can add their voices to the mix on Gun Appreciation Day by carrying American flags and signs reading, "Hands off my guns" to gun shows, stores and shooting ranges.
The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads as follows:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
This fact seems to be of little interest to those who wish to take away the protection afforded to the people by the Constitution.
Likewise, those trying to control the sale and ownership of guns take little note of incidents where lives have been saved by gun owners, including that of a Georgia mother who armed herself with a handgun to protect her children and shot an intruder in her own home earlier this month.
Make your plans now to add your voice to those of gun owners and patriots on January 19, Gun Appreciation Day. Whether you own a guns for recreational purposes or protection or are a gun collector, this day is for you.
