First, I would like to let everyone know about The 60th Annual St. Petersburg Women’s Classic tournament. This is an extra special year with something extra special for the ladies who bowl in the tournament. Deadline for the tournament is October 28th.
I believe I have a team, coming from another city, and they need a bowler, is any ladies interested in bowling, team, doubles/singles, all events. Not sure, but you may have to pay your entry fee. Which would be $72.50. They have not gotten back with me, so it is a maybe. Interested, email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
The tournament is two weekends in November, which will be November 9 & 10th & November 16 & 17th. Two shifts each day. The tournament will be held at Ten Pins for team event, and Liberty Lanes, for doubles/singles.
Confirmations are going out as soon as we receive your paid entry and they are input in the computer. Along with confirmations are a map of our area, and local restaurants that are offering discounts, as long as you show them your USBC Membership card.
Ten Pins is also having an 8 pin no tap offered to any sanctioned lady bowler. You do not have to be bowling in the Classic to enter. It is being run from November 1 – November 30th.
The next tournament we are having is this coming weekend. It is our OPEN tournament. It is open to Gulf Coast bowlers. We normally have a team, doubles/singles, and all EVENTS. USBC told us we can have whatever we want with our OPEN tournament so we decided to have a doubles tournament. You can be 2 men, 2 women or a mixed doubles team. The entry fee is $50. And the tournament is being held at Liberty Lanes, on October 19 & 20th. Two squads each day. Hope to see everyone there!! Entry forms are on our website, www.gcusbc.org or at your center.
On October 26 & 27th, Gulf Coast is having a youth/adult tournament to be held at Seminole Lanes. We have a few new things that we are trying out for this and other youth tournaments. We are offering $100 to a youth, who bowls a 300 or 800 to be added to their scholarship SMART Acct. & if the adult they are bowling with shoots a 300 or 800 we will add $100 to their youth that they are bowling with SMART Acct. The next thing different we are doing is running brackets for the adults to get in, and if they win their brackets, they will give that money that they won to their youth bowler they are bowling with and that money will go in the youth’s SMART Acct.
We also do brackets for the kids, so make sure kids and parents, bring extra money to put your youth into brackets. 100% goes back to the youth bowlers.
Kids - If you want to bowl but do not have an adult to bowl with, please let me know and I will find you an adult. Please email me at email@example.com or contact me on Facebook.
Please always visit their website at www.gcusbc.org and see what is happening.
