Guitarist James Williamson reunites with Iggy And The Stooges

Guitarist James Williamson is reuniting with Iggy And The Stooges to revisit the group’s 1973 classic Raw Power at London’s All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in 2010. Williamson joined as the group’s guitarist in ‘72 while the late Ron Asheton switched over to bass.

The current lineup of Iggy And The Stooges consists of Iggy Pop (vocals), James WIlliamson (guitar), Scott Asheton (drums), Steve McKay (saxophone) and Mike Watt on bass. In addition to rehearsing songs from Raw Power, which the band will play in its entirety at next year’s ATP festival, they have also been re-familiarizing themselves with songs from some of their other albums including The Stooges, Fun House, and Kill City. There’s even the possibility of Iggy and Williamson collaborating on some new material.
