Guitar Hero Greatest Hits gives us the best of the best

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits coming Summer 2009

Just now getting into the Guitar Hero franchise? Or perhaps you are a longtime fan now enjoying the addition of the drums and wishing you can go back through some of your favorites songs from Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II as a drummer? You'll get your wish sometime this summer.

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits will take some of the best tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks of the 8-s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and put them all in one package. In addition to being able to play these songs on the guitar and bass, you can also go at it with drums and vocals.

The new game will feature 48 master recordings including "Them Bones: by Alice in Chains, "Killer Queen" by Queen, "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against The Machine, "I Love Rock N Roll" by Joan Jet and the Blackhearts and "Barracuda" by Heart among many others. You'll be able to arrange these in an epic set list, run through them in career mode or battle it out head-to-head online.

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits is due out sometime this summer and will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii systems.
