Guilty Gear Xrd Opening

See also

Guilty Gear Xrd has finally shown its arcade opening sequence. The story of Xrd takes place a year after Guilty Gear 2: Overture. Our lightning wielding paladin, Ky Kiske, is giving a speech in Illyria which emphasizes that it's about time for humankind and Gears to find a way to live peacefully with each other. Oh, and in case you missed it, Ky ended up getting married to Dizzy. Right now, Dizzy is still crystallized and Dr. Paradigm hasn't secured a means to release her (This is quite sad news to all you people who main Dizzy as it indicates that she might not be playable).

Meanwhile, Sol and Sin (Dizzy and Ky's son) are hanging out. They read a newspaper headline about a group of Gears attacking Illyria. The newspaper article is utilizing deceit to try and elicit a negative public opinion about the Gears. The real event that occurred was an attack from Valentine which was thwarted by Paradigm and his allies. It seems as if the Senate disagrees with Ky's message of peaceful coexistence. Suddenly, Valentine appears. At this moment, it's said that the story will continue within the Guilty Gear Xrd game.

Right now, there's 13 playable characters:

  1. Sol Badguy
  2. Ky Kiske
  3. Millia Rage
  4. May
  5. Chipp Zanuff
  6. Potemkin
  7. Venom
  8. Axl Low
  9. I-No
  10. Faust
  11. Slayer
  12. Zato-1
  13. Bedman
