The ability to feel guilt-free when shopping provides a good overall feeling to anyone that is looking for something special, an item that is needed or one they have been waiting to purchase for some time. Everyone works hard for the pay they receive and in today’s economy the hours out-weigh the paycheck more and more. With families to provide for and bills to pay it is a rare occasion that one can splurge on something special without feeling guilty about it.
Today, June 18 marked the holiday for just that. The Americans Premier Eventologist, Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith created this special day back in 1994. Do something for yourself and celebrate “National Splurge Day”!
Although we try and keep the purse strings taunt because of all the responsibilities we all have pressing us on a daily basis this holiday gives everyone a chance to take a step back and treat themselves or someone special to something that can be small or large depending upon their financial situation.
Some great ways to celebrate this wonderful holiday is to splurge on a dinner out for two, purchase a piece of jewelry, a new shade of lipstick, replace that old worn out baseball cap, buy that tool to complete the latest project in the house, make a trip to the spa or beauty parlor or a massage, manicure or dip in the pool.
Sometimes something small can put a great big smile on one’s face and not always having to want and never receive is a wonderful gift in itself.
Give yourself a little happiness and shop guilt-free and celebrate “National Splurge Day” today!
