Guillermo del Toro is rapidly proving himself to be one of the most prolific producers in modern horror. Mere weeks after the debut of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark's teaser trailer, del Toro and crew are back with a terrific first look at their next project, Julia's Eyes.
Julia's Eyes (Les Ojos de Julia) tells the story of a woman whose eyesight is slowly degenerating as she attempts to unravel the mystery of her sister's untimely death. The trailer implies a tense, atmospheric film involving numerous macabre elements and strange shapes lurking in the stillness. There are definite shades of Wait Until Dark here, and that's no bad thing. Dread Central reports that the film is shot from Julia's point of view, so expect some interesting and claustrophobic camera work.
The film is written by Oriol Paulo and Guillem Morales, and directed by Morales. Belen Ruedla (so excellent in The Orphanage) stars.
More news on this project as I get it. The trailer can be viewed below. It's presented in its native Spanish, with English subtitles, and is definitely worth a look.

I'm really looking forward to 2013 when the crappy American remake comes out.
Sounds like a good one. Michael, I hope they don't! :}
Del Toro does not disappoint when it comes to bone chilling horrors
Guillermo del Toro's camera work is one of the reasons I'll see almost anything he does – in addition to his overall aesthetic of course. I'm definitely seeing "Julia's Eyes" – but no remake please. (A term that is only second in irritating me to "reboot.")
