In Guild Wars 2, weapon skills are the skills the player can use based on the equipped weapon. These skills are the ones that involve using the hotkeys 1 through 5 on the keyboard. [Guild Wars 2 skills list]
Depending on the profession, players have many different weapons available to them. Every time they equip a different type of weapon, it comes with different weapon skills; also, when dual wielding weapons players can get a sort of mix matches weapon skill setup. [Guild Wars 2 main page]
When equipping a new weapon the player must first unlock all the abilities by using them. Once unlocked, all weapon combinations give 5 weapon skills.
