Guild Wars 2: Sign up for the beta, now!

ArenaNet is opening up Guild Wars 2 beta testing to the general gaming public. If you want to be a beta tester, run to the Guild Wars 2 site, now, and sign up. Do it as soon as you can, because it looks like they'll only be taking applications for a couple of days.

You'll have to download and run a system diag test that will send your system information to ArenaNet. You'll then be redirected to a website to finish the sign-up process. (Hint: It was necessary for me to temporarily disable my Windows firewall so I could send my system info to ArenaNet.)

Opening up the beta testing to the general gaming public is good news for every gamer who's been waiting for Guild Wars 2. With Guild Wars 2 moving into a more general beta it's an indication the game is near completion. As long as there aren't any major bugs, Guild Wars 2 is probably 3 to 6 months from official release.
