The Sylvari are the equivalent of elves in Guild Wars 2. They’re not born like normal people, instead they awaken beneath tree’s. They are quite obviously tree people, and from the looks of things, green is most definitely they’re favorite color. [A full list of Guild Wars 2 Races]
Sylvari, like humans, are one of the two mid-sized races. They’re very nature loving, and they’re looks make it even more apparent. They rely strongly on magic, and it is their strength. Their warriors are nothing like the Charr, but they make up for it with their strong use of magic. [Guild Wars 2 main page]
The description for the Sylvari, as quoted from the in game character creation page, reads the following:
Sylvari are not born. They awaken beneath the Pale Tree with knowledge gleaned in their pre-life dream. These noble beings travel, seeking adventure and pursuing quests. They struggle to balance curiosity with duty, eagerness with chivalry, and warfare with honor. Magic and mystery entwine to shape the future of this race that has so recently appeared.
As you can see, they’re very adventurous and mystical. Magic is their friend, and they’re very fun loving. All around they’re the exciting nature related race of Guild Wars 2.
