Humans in Guild Wars 2 are the same as always; however, they have lost their homeland and they’re in a struggle to regain their glory. They have been shattered, yet the human spirit never surrenders, and never gives up. They will keep fighting until the end, and will do their best to regain their grasp on the world. Humans are one of the middle sized races, not the tallest, yet not the shortest. They’re very, well, human; and they are all around neutral in all aspects. Humans are the typical hero type setting for any player in Guild Wars 2. [Guild Wars 2 main page]
The description for the Humans, as quoted from the in game character creation page, reads the following:
Humans have lost their homeland, their security, and their former glory. Even their gods have withdrawn. And yet, the Human spirit remains unshaken. These brave defenders of Kryta continue to fight with every ounce of their strength.
As you can see, humans are defeated, but they will not give up. Play as a human in order to help them regain their former glory.
