The most interesting items from this seem to be the summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill, as well as everything else. The physical items will become valuable eventually, so they may actually serve as a good investment, or just the ultimate collection for a true die-hard Guild Wars 2 fan.
8. - Guild Wars 2 hardcopy retailers
Guild Wars 2 can be purchased at many outlets including digitally. According to the guild wars official site, the current retail locations include the following:
Gamestop
Walmart

In other words you can pick up your copy of Guild Wars 2 at any major supermarket. This game is widely available to people across the entire nation.
If you prefer, you can download it digitally after buying it at buy.guildwars2.com.
9. - Free Trials
Guild Wars 2 free trials no longer exist. In Guild Wars the free trial was an invite only game period that ended at 10PM PST on November 18th. The only way to get a trial account was if a player who bought the game invited you into the trial. The trial would let people enjoy Guild Wars 2 until the previously mentioned date.
Other than that the only potential way to get a “free trial” would be to buy the game digitally from the official website. It has been claimed that they give a full refund within 30 days of purchase if the player is not satisfied with the game. Really though, that’s not a free trial.
There are no stereotypical free trials in Guild Wars 2. They don’t really need them either since it’s so affordable to just buy the game. Eventually the price will be even lower, making Guild Wars 2 one of the most accessible pay to play MMORPG’s out there.
11. - Classes
Classes in Guild Wars 2 are labeled professions. A class is the name of this same role in the game as it exists in most other MMORPG’s
What class a player chooses is a concept from World of Warcraft. Because it has been the most popular MMORPG for such a long time, most people refer to choosing of a specified video game character type as picking a class. That is why people search for class instead of profession for Guild Wars 2.
Because of what a profession usually is in a game, players should know that anybody can harvest and create anything. There are herbs, ores, and trees to harvest. This is referred to as gathering. Crafting is the name for using those products to make more complex products.
If you’re thinking what role classes are, Guild Wars 2 doesn’t go by the World of Warcraft: Healer, DPS, Tanks concept. Instead it goes by a concept of:
Support
Damage
Control
Click on any of the three to read more about them.
12. - Races
In Guild Wars 2 there are five unique races to choose from. The chosen race depicts where players start off, what they look like, as well as other minor things.
Here’s a list of the five races, click on the name to read more about it:
Some of these races are perceived as better than others, but in actuality it’s all pretty balanced. There aren’t any insane bonuses for being a specific race. This line up of races is interesting and fun to play around with.
13. - Professions
In Guild Wars 2 professions are the character class. There are 8 to choose from. Each of them have their own unique bonuses and weaknesses.
Here is a list of the professions. Click on the name to learn more about each one:
Elementalist
Warrior
Guardian
Engineer
Ranger
Necromancer
Thief
Mesmer
This set of professions is a great lineup for Guild Wars 2. Especially with their unique combat system, it’s nice the way that each of these professions work. Different professions can wield different weapons and armor, so be careful with which one you choose.
14. - Crafting Disciplines
In Guild Wars 2 there are several crafting disciplines. All of them are related to refining raw materials, and using them to make advanced items. Crafting disciplines also make use of materials harvested from gathering skills.
The crafting disciplines are the following:
Weaponsmith
Armorsmith
Jewler
Leatherworker
Tailor
Huntsman
Artificer
Chef
Each of these disciplines are very useful, especially for certain professions. For example, Armorsmithing is good for heavy professions like Warriors. Tailoring is good for light professions like Necromancers. Leatherworking is great for professions such as Rangers.
You can switch disciplines at any time for free. Also when you deactivate one, you keep all the skills you had from it. When switching back, all the skills will be retained, and each player can max out all disciplines eventually.
This system of crafting is a very innovative and hopefully preferred way or crafting. Being stuck with a decision for such a long time in crafting is what deterred most people from doing it in a lot of other games.
15. - Crafting Stations
In Guild Wars 2, crafting stations are where players come to use materials to make new items or ingredients. Each crafting discipline has its own crafting station type. This is where players have to go to do any sort of crafting.
Here is a list of the types of crafting tables. Click on to read more about them:
Weaponsmithing Station
Armorsmithing Station
Jewling Station
Leatherworking Station
Tailoring Station
Huntsman’s Station
Artificing Station
Cooking Station
The crafting stations also give access to the bank, discovery, production, and collection tabs.
16. - Dungeons
Dungeons in Guild Wars 2 are different than most standard MMORPG dungeons. There are currently only 9 dungeons. These dungeons are at specific character levels, and they start high, so be careful when entering a dungeon.
Level scaling happens in dungeons, but content does not. Whether there are five players or one player, the dungeon will have the exact same numbers of enemies at the same strengths.
There’s also a mode of called explorable mode. This mode is unlocked when players complete the dungeon normally. This type of the dungeon is what happens after the initial dungeon and can go on for hours. It also is somewhat dependent upon the environment around the dungeon, so the experience may be different every time.
As seen on the official Guild Wars wiki, here’s a list of dungeons and their levels:
Ascalonian Catacombs (30)
Caudecus’s Manor (40)
Twilight Arbor (50)
Sorrow’s Embrace (60)
Citadel of Flame (70)
Honor of the Waves (76)
Crucible of Eternity (78)
The Ruined City of Arah (80)
Fractals of the Mists (80)
These dungeons also give tokens from the first few runs of the day each day. Completing dungeons gives experience and fame as well
17. - Skills
Skills in Guild Wars 2 aren’t quite as straight forward as in some other MMORPG’s. Instead skills are split up into three categories:
Weapon Skills
Slot Skills
Traits
Weapons skills change depending on which weapon a player has equipped. Slot skills are extra abilities that players can use in addition to weapon skills. Traits are special modifiers that can be purchased with trait points.
Skills are what players use in combat. They act very quickly in Guild Wars 2, and they each have their own unique advantages and disadvantages. Slot skills also give great modifiers and control abilities. Stun’s, snares, buffs, you name it, and they’re all in slot skills.
20. - Weapons
Weapons in Guild Wars 2 are very important. Depending on which weapon a player has equipped, his or her skills will be different. Different weapons bring different abilities, such as a mace giving more stun abilities, and a sword giving more bleed abilities.
There are several weapon types in Guild Wars 2, including:
Axes
Longbows
Shot Bows
Daggers
Focus
Greatsword
Hammer
Harpoon
Mace
Pistol
Rifle
Scepter
Shield
Speargun
Staff
Sword
Torch
Trident
Warhorn
Each profession can only equip certain weapons; for example, a warrior cannot equip a staff or a torch.
As far as where to equip weapons, there are two weapon slots (two hands). With this players can equip a one handed weapon and a shield, or a special item, they can equip two handed weapons, or two one-handed weapons.
Also players have the ability to swap weapons in the middle of battle with a weapon swap ability. Players have one extra slot where they can equip a secondary weapon. Whenever the player wants they can hit the “ ` ” key in order swap out weapons.
Three of a players skills are depicted by main hand weapons and two skills are depicted by the off hand. In some combinations there are only four weapon skills.
Players also have a special move which is activated with the “f1” key. This one may charge or have special circumstances around it that will affect how it is used.
Weapons are very important in Guild Wars 2, and learning how to use them effectively is even more important. With how the game works, weapon choices and the use of weapon skills are everything. It takes a skilled player to become skilled with his weapons, and an even more skilled player to become skilled with his skills.
21. - Level Cap
In Guild Wars 2, the level cap is 80. Power is balanced though through scaling. If a maximum level play enters an area designed for lower level players, his or her strength will diminish in scale to the area, as to balance players helping beginners.
Also, as players level up, the higher levels add dramatically less power compared to the lower levels. So once a player reaches a certain point, levels stop making a dramatic difference, unlike in World of Warcraft.
This level cap system will be very interesting, and a fun new take on level caps in MMORPG’s.
22. - Guilds
Guilds in Guild Wars 2 are groupings of players who come together to play more effectively, and get rewarded from the game by doing so. Guild’s can range from 1 to 500 members, and exist across multiple servers/worlds.
There are guild ranks in the guilds that allow different privileges, and guilds are fairly cheap to upgrade. There is also a guild bank concept in Guild Wars 2 where privileges guild members can move stuff around in the bank.
Guild’s can also take claim of world objectives and show their guild logo on the captured regions. They also benefit from all the bonuses purchased with the use of influence.
24. - Mounts
There will be no mounts in Guild Wars 2. Neither will there be any ships. The only planned methods of transport are teleports. Eventually they may add mounts, but not at this current time.
It does seem however, that someday they will add some kind of mounts, even if it’s ships. Again though, at the release of the game, all these will be are waypoints and Asura gates.
The nice thing about this system however is that from any point in the game the player can pay a small fee and teleport anywhere else in the world in an instant. This system if amazing for reducing player harassment; if someone’s being a bother, just disappear, they’ll have no idea where you went.
25. - Trading Post
The trading post is Guild Wars 2’s version of the auction house. It allows players to buy and sell items and offers a feature to place an order for an item. Someone can come by at any time to fill your order for whatever price you set.
Also monitoring of auctions can be done from a smartphone application or web browser without being in-game. When it comes to the actual process of buying and selling however, these steps must be performed from in-game.
This trading system is across all worlds and is anonymous. The trading post can be used from anywhere in game, but visiting a trading post representative is the only way to pick up items or coins.
26. - PvP Review
PvP in Guild Wars 2 is very structured and yet very skill based at the same time. The action is amazing, players can dodge and roll to evade attacks. There are some attacks that cannot be dodged, but there are a lot more that are only area based.
Healing is interesting, every profession has some kind of healing abilities, and a lot of them have passive regeneration. There are special abilities that each class has called slot skills. There are also traits that players can pick from to further customize their characters.
The only real PvP in Guild Wars 2 is world vs. world PvP and structured PvP. In this players compete against each other for fame and glory. There is no world PvP as players are used to in World of Warcraft.
Weapons are important in Guild Wars 2 as well. Depending on which weapon a player has equipped, he will have different abilities. Also most professions can use ranged combat weapons.
When players die they get a chance to be revived, which any player can do, for no cost to them. Also players can fight to the death while lying on the ground dying. Depending on which profession a player is, they’ll have different abilities when in this dying state.
If someone kills a player, they have to execute them before leaving, or else there’s a chance they might get back up; also not to mention the damage that a downed player can do in his or her dying state.
Overall Guild Wars 2 has very good PvP combat. It’s fast paced, intense, and very skill based. Groups are important, which help people to form guilds. Dodging abilities makes it fun to play because it gives players a chance to have an edge over the competition, and feel like they’re more than a walking tower.
Guild Wars 2 earns a 5 out 5 in PvP for its exceptional combat system. Their max level system for world vs. world PvP is nice too. Overall everything comes together in a nice, seamless fashion in Guild Wars 2. For PvP, Guild Wars 2 is a must buy game for any MMORPG fan.
27. - PvE Review
PvE in Guild Wars 2 is very interesting. There are events that happen over and over again all over the place. Sometimes when an event is over, it leads to a chain of events, that players can follow and join in on.
Anybody can join in and work together on events, and the more people in the area, the harder the events get. This system encourages players to work together, and sometimes when doing events, before you realize it, you might have five other players backing you up.
Also it’s possible to dodge abilities in PvE. Rolling and walking in certain patterns is nice for dodging attacks, especially melee ones. With ranged weapons it’s sometimes possible to kill a melee NPC without even getting hit once.
Again, the events are interesting. In some areas, if you lose the event, an entire camp may disappear. Once it does, an event will spawn a few minutes later somewhere else, which leads down a chain of events, which slowly brings the camp back into existence.
Bosses are fun to fight too, especially considering they scale based on the number of players too. If there are 20 players in an area, the boss may be up to 20 times harder.
There are environmental PvE elements that are fun too. In some areas there may be jumping challenges, where rocks are floating in the sky and players must jump from rock to rock in order to access a secret dungeon. This dungeon may have one time pick up treasure chests, or special pets to tame, sometimes even more.
With all of these elements and more, it’s easy to see why Guild Wars 2 is getting credited with such wonderful PvE. This system makes it seem like every time a player enters an area, they’re experiencing it for the first time all over again.
Overall Guild Wars 2 deserves a 5 out of 5 for PvE, in that in brings the MMORPG genre back to life with its stunning PvE environment.
Making for one of the most exciting PvE related games of 2012, Guild Wars 2 will stand out as one of the best MMORPG’s of this current time. This game is absolutely wonderful, a must buy for any hardcore MMORPG fan.
29. - Bosses
Bosses in Guild Wars 2 are awesome. Their strength varies depending on the number of players who are opposing it. They can often be found at the end of world events, and sometimes just randomly out in the wild. Most of the time there are events for the hunting of these bosses.
Event bosses may come at the end of raids on villages, or any sort of arrangement. Almost always however, bosses can be found at the ends of quest chains and dungeons. Usually it takes a few players to take down bosses, and the more players there are the stronger they become.
Players must be careful when fighting bosses, especially when there’s a lot of players around, it will upgrade the boss’s strength, and make him lethal to the touch. Overall the bosses in Guild Wars 2 are epic, and a must fight for any MMORPG fans.
30. - Critters
Critters in Guild Wars 2 only serve one purpose: To be slain at the hands or feet of the millions of players who play the game.
There are achievements for squashing critters, and players may receive achievement points for doing so. Usually critter squashing comes in four increments, 100, 250, 500, and 1,000 kills.
Killing 1,000 critters is tough work, an achievement that can only be had at the hands of a very veteran player. Also sometimes there may be glitches or events that lead to the killing of critters, which can also be nice for supplementing this challenge.
One player told of an account where he killed 1,000 rats in one day, because at the end of a quest there was an endless flow of rats out of a sewer.
Killing critters is a fun activity that many players can enjoy. It’s always fun when running down a road, or sneaking through a forest, to see a little critter running around, so players can put a bullet right between their eyes for 5,000 damage.
It’s sad the life of a critter, simply put on this game to be squashed under the feet of savage players.
32. - Armor
Armor in Guild Wars 2 is very important. Without armor, players would die extremely quickly to the environment around them.
Armor can be equipped with special upgrades, and stat boosters. Sometimes players may find armor that gives; for example, +4 precision, or +6 power. Not every piece of armor is unique, but there are a lot of choices out there for the diligent player.
Different professions can equip different armor stets. For example, a warrior can only equip heavy armor. A necromancer can only equip light armor, and so on.
All the armor slots in Guild Wars 2 include:
Head
Shoulder
Chest
Hands
Legs
Feet
Back
Accessory
Accessory
Amulet
Ring
Ring
And the armor types include:
Light armor
Medium Armor
Heavy armor
All of these combined give players lots of options to play around with when choosing armor. Be sure to equip characters with good armor, or else they’ll get blown away in combat.
It’s important to note that armor breaks in Guild Wars 2. Once broken, or on the way to broken, players must stop at a repairer in order to get the armor repaired. If broken, a piece of armor will give no stats to the player, and make them completely vulnerable, as if nothing was equipped at all.
Armor is very important in general in Guild Wars 2. Without good armor a player is practically nothing. All the skill in the world couldn’t save a player from the cruel reality of being defenseless. Only a ranged profession could ever stand a chance without armor in Guild Wars 2, and even then, it’s extremely dangerous.
34. - Items
Items in Guild Wars 2 aren’t as complex as some other games, but at the same time it seems as though they’re infinitely complex.
There are five main types of items:
Junk
Armor / Weapons
Crafting goods
Trophies
Special Items
Each of these items has its own unique purpose in the game. Junk is only meant to be sold for spare change. Armor and Weapons are, well, obviously for use as armor and weapons. Crafting goods are used to craft at crafting stations. Trophies are earned from events and just found from dead creatures, they’re usually worth some decent spare change. Last but not least is special items, which are rare items from events and special one-time events in Guild Wars 2 in which players can use for special effects, such as summoning a golem banker to bank at.
When it comes to items the best place to go is the trading post. There players can buy or sell from other players across all world. There is also a trading feature players can use to trade person to person.
There are thousands of items to use in Guild Wars 2, and even more to sell and trade. Regardless of what an item is worth to a NPC, it may be worth a small fortune to another player elsewhere. Keep a lookout for items that might be valuable, and go see what they’re worth at the trading post.
35. - Trading
In Guild Wars 2 trading can take place in a few different forms. Players can trade player to player through mail, or they can trade through the trading post. There’s also the process of buying selling to NPC’s.
Players can send mail to each other in order to trade, and they can also drop items to trade to each other. Player to player trading in Guild Wars 2 involves trust, there is no normal trade system in Guild Wars 2 like there is in other MMORPG’s.
The Trading Post in the main option available for most players when it comes to trading; it’s through the trading post that players can most easily access all the items, weapons, and armor that they need in order to succeed.
Trading is a bit more complex in Guild Wars 2, but not impossible. There is no c.o.d. in Guild Wars 2, so players must manage with what they have. It is currently unknown if ArenaNet Will ever add a normal player to player trading system in Guild Wars 2.
36. - Emotes
Emotes in Guild Wars 2 are a little lacking. They have the power and intensity of most other MMORPG’s, if not more. The only real problem with their lack of abundance; there are less than 20 known emotes in Guild Wars 2.
The list of known emotes, as quoted from the Guild Wars 2 wiki:
/beckon
/bow
/cheer
/cower
/cry
/dance
/kneel
/laugh
/no
/point
/ponder
/salute
/shrug
/sit
/sleep
/surprised
/threaten
/wave
/yes
/emote
These are all the known emotes in Guild Wars 2. They’re very fun to use, and the /emote one is nice in order to make up your own emotes, without the physical movements of course.
Emotes are an important part of any MMORPG. It’s good that in Guild Wars 2 emotes are as involved as ever. Players don’t seem to use them very often in Guild Wars 2, but when they do, it usually turns out to be a very comical or entertaining situation.
These emotes are nice for players who want to role-play. Emotes are absolutely essential to roleplaying, especially the /emote, emote.
37. - Achievements
Achievements in Guild Wars 2 come in two sets. There are daily and monthly achievements, as well as regular achievements. The regular ones are achievements that are available at all times, and can be completed across multiple characters.
The achievements are split into thirteen categories. These include:
Daily
Daily PvP
Monthly
Monthly PvP
Slayer
Hero
PvP Conqueror
Explorer
Fashion
Weapon Master
Community
Hall of Monuments
Activities
World vs World
Jumping Puzzles
Special Event
Bosses
These achievements are a fun way to gain Arenanet points and titles, just like in World of Warcraft.
There are multiple tiers to each achievement; for example, you may have an achievement to kill 5 drakes, 50, 250, and 1000. At each of these points you will receive achievement points and potentially titles.
The achievement system on Guild Wars 2 should be a fun way to keep players attention, and give everyone something fun to do while they play.
38. - Events
Events in Guild Wars 2 are very dynamic, yet not so dynamic at the same time. Events happen in areas, and any player can come by and join in. The more players there are at an event, the more enemies the players will have to fight, or just the stronger they become.
Often these events lead to more events; for example, players may help someone set up a camp somewhere, which then a few minutes later leads to an event in which players must defend the camp from ghosts. After defending the camp a few times it may lead to an event in which players join an army that’s attacking from that camp, to some other location.
The non-dynamic part of this is that usually these events happen in the same way every time. There are only a few possible combinations for each event, which does in fact make it seem more dynamic, but after staying an area long enough, the repetitiveness starts to set in.
This is a much better system that World of Warcraft however, in that players always feel like they have something new to do. It’s definitely a new touch on a very old MMORPG concept.
Events are a very fun change of pace in Guild Wars 2. With their newer system of events and quests, players have many more options to choose from when they decide where to go next in their adventures. It’s with this increase of dynamic events in Guild Wars 2 that the game really sells. There are millions of players who want to buy the game for this very reason.

As you can see the Guild Wars 2 official forum is HUGE. On top of this there are actually thousands of views and hundreds of topics on nearly every single one of these forum topics. If you’re looking for a great place to share your ideas, or rant about the game, the official forum is the place for you!
43. - Private Servers
In Guild Wars 2 there aren’t very many private servers yet. There’s not really much incentive to make one yet either. If you must play on a private server, here are some helpful links to websites that might have some private servers. Enter these servers at your own risk.

Private servers have always been a fad since World of Warcraft. Sometimes players don’t feel like working their way through all the grinding of the game. Often private servers will have modifiers, like 10x normal experience gains, or players might just start at level 80. Private servers don’t usually stop popping up until the game has been out for a few years, and players want to try new things with their games.
There’s not really much else information out there on Guild Wars 2 private servers. If you need more, you’ll have to look around for yourself, there’s not much else to find out there.
44. - Wallpapers
There are a lot of good Guild Wars 2 wallpapers out there for players to grab. One of the best places to get them is actually the official website at https://www.guildwars2.com/en/media/wallpapers/ .
Some players might not like their wallpapers however, and may try to find more unique wallpapers. That’s what this page is for. Here is a list of sites that have Guild Wars 2 wallpapers, or wallpaper related material:

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/17-wallpapers/
http://bestgamewallpapers.com/guild-wars-2
http://bloggermain.com/guild-wars-2-wallpapers/
http://www.desktopnexus.com/tag/guild-wars-2/
If this isn’t good enough, try searching “guild wars 2 wallpaper” into a Google images search. There are tons of options out there for players to pick from, so don’t settle for some cheap Guild Wars 2 wallpaper, get the one of your dreams. With all the options out there, it’s totally possible too.
45. - Concept Art
If you want Guild Wars 2 concept art, try the official Guild Wars 2 website. They have plenty of concept arts at https://www.guildwars2.com/en/media/concept-art/ .
It’s fun to see what kind of concept art players have come up with however. If you’re looking for player made concept arts, then you’ll have to look elsewhere.
If the official concept art doesn’t suite your particular style, there are plenty of other options out there. That’s what this page is for; here is a list of other websites that have Guild Wars 2 concept art:
http://www.neoseeker.com/Games/Products/PC/guild_wars_2/concept_art.html
http://conceptartworld.com/?p=7460
http://www.cgchannel.com/2012/09/qa-guild-wars-2-concept-artist-kekai-kotaki/
http://www.creativeuncut.com/art_guild-wars-2_a.html
There’s not really much user generated content on concept art. The game hasn’t been out long enough for users to make much of anything. In the following years there should be much more concept art for players to play around with. Until then we’ll all just have to wait.
