Events in Guild Wars 2 are very dynamic, yet not so dynamic at the same time. Events happen in areas, and any player can come by and join in. The more players there are at an event, the more enemies the players will have to fight, or just the stronger they become. [Guild Wars 2 main page]
Often these events lead to more events; for example, players may help someone set up a camp somewhere, which then a few minutes later leads to an event in which players must defend the camp from ghosts. After defending the camp a few times it may lead to an event in which players join an army that’s attacking from that camp, to some other location.
The non-dynamic part of this is that usually these events happen in the same way every time. There are only a few possible combinations for each event, which does in fact make it seem more dynamic, but after staying an area long enough, the repetitiveness starts to set in.
This is a much better system that World of Warcraft however, in that players always feel like they have something new to do. It’s definitely a new touch on a very old MMORPG concept.
Events are a very fun change of pace in Guild Wars 2. With their newer system of events and quests, players have many more options to choose from when they decide where to go next in their adventures. It’s with this increase of dynamic events in Guild Wars 2 that the game really sells. There are millions of players who want to buy the game for this very reason.
