Armor can be equipped with special upgrades, and stat boosters. Sometimes players may find armor that gives; for example, +4 precision, or +6 power. Not every piece of armor is unique, but there are a lot of choices out there for the diligent player.
Different professions can equip different armor stets. For example, a warrior can only equip heavy armor. A necromancer can only equip light armor, and so on.

And the armor types include:
Light armor
Medium Armor
Heavy armor
All of these combined give players lots of options to play around with when choosing armor. Be sure to equip characters with good armor, or else they’ll get blown away in combat.
It’s important to note that armor breaks in Guild Wars 2. Once broken, or on the way to broken, players must stop at a repairer in order to get the armor repaired. If broken, a piece of armor will give no stats to the player, and make them completely vulnerable, as if nothing was equipped at all.
Armor is very important in general in Guild Wars 2. Without good armor a player is practically nothing. All the skill in the world couldn’t save a player from the cruel reality of being defenseless. Only a ranged profession could ever stand a chance without armor in Guild Wars 2, and even then, it’s extremely dangerous.
