Guidelines for celebrating fake marriages

See also

The definition of marriage is obviously a matter of current controversy. Quite many people do prefer to avoid controversy and "mind their own business" as far as possible. Yet the political turmoil finds its way to their doorsteps. They are asked to celebrate as "marriage" contracts and unions which they would not themselves consider marriage at all, that they would consider fake. The question is how to celebrate those gracefully and legally.
The first thing to realize is that not every thing seen on television is always what it claims. Some people who claim to believe in same sex marriage might not be entirely forthright. Perhaps surprisingly that can include the ones getting marriage contracts.
Some of you will likely wonder what other possibilities there might be, what ulterior motives. Often the purpose of seeking attention in the news involves social commentary. An obvious comment with same sex marriage is that it is the "same" as other marriages. Although they might not claim to be ridiculing anyone, it can nevertheless be exactly what they accomplish. They can make people with lackadaisical attitudes toward marriage thoroughly embarrassed to have to confront the fact that homosexual marriages are indeed the "same" thing. What does marriage mean to people on their fourth one, for example, heterosexual or otherwise?
The first guideline is then that it might not be necessary to pretend any marriages are not fake. This article takes that risk. In fact that might be the point of the gathering, to illustrate how superfluous marriage has become and to meditate on this development over crackers and cheese.
However, caution is advised as some might take offense. Those would be the ones who do not hold marriage to mean a guarantee of parental responsibility. There might be quite many such people since other guarantees of parental responsibility have gained use and favor recently. Furthermore, the need for any guarantee has significantly diminished as government takes more and more responsibility for children.
We can now simple sew tags on children's clothes that say, "I am so and so, there is a 92 percent chance that other so and so is my father according to DNA evidence, please return me to my current guardian yet another so and so if I am found unattended." There are ways to put such messages on clothing using computer printers as well. There you go, no marriages being about parental responsibility are required.
That is at least what many people think. So remember to be cautious in openly celebrating "fake" marriages.
A second guideline for people who truly would like to mind their own business is that traditional marriage about parental responsibility was already indeed the correct way for parents to mind their own business. Same sex couples might have thoroughly corrupted those responsibilities and businesses.
For those concerned about people asking for "equal" treatment of homosexuals and "acceptance" of their lifestyle even on respected news sources, please remain calm. The fact that such people are far more dangerous to children than Catholic priests has already occurred to more than a few people and we are working on solutions. The number of states constitutionally banning same sex marriage is about double the number states recognizing it. Then there is that success in Russia.
It is possible that as early as the end of 2014 the liberal media will have learned the error of its ways.
A significant problem in the past was the notion that "social" conservatism "cost" taxpayers money. Of course with the costs of failing to restrain sin mounting ever higher and higher more people are understanding that social conservatism was, is and always will be the least costly course.
