This week has brought a wave of new concert announcements in Central Iowa. Among those shows are Des Moines dates for Guided by Voices, Black Tide, and Celtic Thunder. Here are the details for those three shows.

Lo-fi indie rockers Guided by Voices (pictured) will come to Des Moines on Monday, June 2 for an 8 p.m. show at Wooly's. The prolific Ohio band has nearly 40 releases to their name, including February's Motivational Jumpsuit. By the time their tour brings them to Des Moines, they expect to have released another album entitled Cool Planet (due out May 13). Tickets to GBV's all ages show at Wooly's are $22 in advance and $25 at the door.

Wooly's will also host Miami heavy metal band Black Tide (featured video) eight days later on June 10. Black Tide released a new EP entitled Bite the Bullet in November of last year. The band's Rise Again Tour brings them to town with Threat Signal, Hatchet, and Affiance. Joining them on the bill will be locals Hollowpoint, Through the Darkness, and Shatter. Tickets to the 5:30 p.m. all ages event will be $16 in advance and $20 at the door.

Irish world music group Celtic Thunder will stop at the Des Moines Civic Center on November 29 at 7:30 p.m. as part of their first-ever symphony tour. The group will perform songs from their 2013 chart-topping album Christmas Voices and other releases backed by a full symphony orchestra. Tickets for the show went on sale yesterday through the Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets for $50 to $75.
