MyMagic+ is Disney’s vacation planning program that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to help guests customize and plan their vacation days. The band can be customized using the My Disney Experience mobile app (available for iPhone, iPad and Android) or by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort website and clicking on the My Disney Experience tab. Guests using the My Disney Experience mobile app can view park hours, attraction wait times, information on hotel and dining, book advanced dining reservations (ADRs) and more.
MagicBand, a rubber bracelet will contain important information for guests. MagicBands will tie into MyMagic+ and My Disney Experience so guests can customize their vacation and have everything in one place. The MagicBands will work as a room key, theme park admission ticket, PhotoPass card, charge card (if activated), contain Disney Dining Plan credits (if applicable) and FastPass+ passes. Below are some answers to frequently asked questions.
What is FastPass+?
Instead of guests having to grab FastPass tickets in the park, they will now be able to choose which FastPasses they want ahead of time on the My Disney Experience app or website. Guests can choose up to three FastPasses a day for attractions and character meet n’ greets.
Can I change my FastPass times once I’ve chosen them on FastPass+?
Yes. Once you choose from one of the four options available for your three FastPass times, you can go back and change any of them. Guests are not confined to only the four options for FastPasses.
Can I change which attractions that I have chosen?
Yes. Guests can login to the My Disney Experience app or Walt Disney World website and change the attractions that they have chosen for their FastPasses.
How many FastPass tickets will Walt Disney World Annual Passholders receive?
According to Disney Imagineers, Annual Passholders will receive three FassPasses for seven days each month.
Who will be receiving MagicBands?
Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and Annual Passholders will receive MagicBands. Guests will receive a MagicBand for each member of their traveling party for every stay they make at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, including Annual Passholders. Children who are under the age of three will not receive a MagicBand since they do not require a theme park admission ticket to get into the parks.
What if I lose my MagicBand?
If you believe you've misplaced your MagicBand, you can deactivate it from the My Disney Experience app or Walt Disney World Resort website. If you choose to deactivate it, it can be reactivated at a later time. If you are positive that it’s been lost or stolen, then choose the report as lost or stolen option. Once that option is chosen you can’t reactivate the band. Guests who are unable to deactivate their MagicBand via the app or website can visit Guest Relations or their hotel Lobby Concierge.
Guests who lose their MagicBand can either purchase a new MagicBand, receive a Keys to the World card (the current system) or reactivate a MagicBand from a previous vacation.
Are there accessories for the MagicBand?
Yes. Guests can purchase MagicBandits (buttons), MagicSliders and CoverBands for their MagicBands. Prices for these items will range from $6.95 to $15.95.
