It is the start of summer and just when you thought the desert couldn't get any hotter, EDC is coming to town June 8 thru 10, 2012 to heat things up even more. The desert is about to get electrified with Electric Daisy Carnival, an over the top dance party for the mind, body and soul. From sunset to sunrise, EDC is full of spectacular displays and theatrical performances. You never know what's going to happen next, and this year the promoters have some big surprises in store for your senses.

Electric Daisy Carnival has grown into a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience. EDC combines the world's most renowned performers and electronic dance music talent with leading-edge production, art, and special effects to create an unparalleled experience of sight and sound that you will have to encounter for yourself to believe. It is your world, so go play and let your imagination lead the way.

Where is EDC held? The Las Vegas Motor Speedway, located on the outskirts of Las Vegas. The venue will undergo a unique transformation as the Electric Daisy Carnival comes to town. Insomniac (the promotion company) will transform this unique location into a whimsical festival environment complete with six areas of music, carnival rides, vendor village, interactive art installations and an array of other festival attractions. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a 1,000-acre complex located at 7000 Las Vegas Blvd N. Las Vegas, NV 89115.

The festival will feature the top DJs in the World, the line up this year will blow your socks off. Afrojack, Carl Cox, Calvin Harris, Avicii, Benny Benassi, Laidback Luke, Tiësto,, Steve Aoki just to name a few. And the entertainment does not stop there! The EDC family is made up of more than 500 theatrical performers, decked out in cutting-edge costumes, makeup and props crafted specifically for the festival. This year EDC has some very special guests joining the fun, including Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity.

The party continues around the clock with events on the Strip at venues like: Lavo, The Cosmo, Tao, Drai's and Marquee. So make sure to visit the official EDC website for more details. Remember to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated, after all it is a desert out there.

TIPS Drink plenty of water the days leading up to the festival. This will help you stay hydrated once you are there. Make sure to eat, your body needs energy to keep you up and dancing till the wee hours. Lockers will be available for rent at the festival for your belongings if you need to rent one. Sleeping in your cars is not permitted on the festival grounds, so a hotel room is recommended. Its hot out there, don't die in your car from heat exhaustion.
