Guide dog lost in Texas

A black, Labrador retriever named "Anka," was lost in the Shilo/Kingsley area of Garland, Texas, on March 7.

Anka is a Guide Dog for the Blind and her partner is extremely distraught over her disappearance. Unfortunately, despite extensive searching and the posting of multiple fliers, she has not yet been recovered.

Anka is five-years-old and weighs 55 pounds. She escaped from her home without her identification on, but she does have a tattoo in her ear which reads, 4R89.

Though Anka was wearing a training collar when she disappeared, the collar has nothing which would allow a good Samaritan to know who she belongs to.

Please keep an eye out for this missing dog. She is described as "very sweet, and well-trained."

Anyone who has spotted or found Anka is asked to call Guide Dogs for the Blind at: 1-800-295-4050. A reward is offered for Anka's safe return.

Follow the search effort for Anka at this link to her Facebook page.
