Gubernatorial candidates making Dallas appearances

The candidates for Texas governor will be appearing in Dallas in mid-October for speaking engagements, giving undecided voters a chance to hear from each in person.

The Dallas Democratic Forum will host former Houston Mayor Bill White on Monday, October 11 at the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Avenue. Registration and a lunch buffet begins at 11:15 a.m., and the program begins at 12:00 noon. The Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce will host Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday, October 13 at the Hyatt Regency, 300 Reunion Blvd. Perry will deliver the "State of the State" address, highlighting accomplishments of the legislative session and issues facing the state. Perry and White have no debates scheduled before the general election. Gov. Perry required that both he and White release records of their private finances as a condition before scheduling a debate, which White refused to do.
