According to ComicBook.com on Jan. 22, Disney will likely go with three movie trailers do be aired during Superbowl XLVIII. The trailers that are likely to be in the running are "Guardians of the Galaxy", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", and "Need for Speed". In November, it was announced that ad space had already been filled for the event and at the time Disney was only desiring one commercial during the entire game, but now they had up the ante as they seek two more additional prospects.
However, there is no guarantee that Disney will get their desired additional spots to allow the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer to air, but given the hype for the film during last years Comic Con and the D23 Expo, this could be the best investment Disney will have made to have the trailer brought to life during the Superbowl.
James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" is scheduled to be released on Aug. 1.
