Casting announcements for Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” haven’t been officially announced. In fact, not much is known about the film except for plans to begin shooting in the summer. On Wednesday, Jan. 23, however, Latino Review got the exclusive scoop that Marvel is looking into casting comedians Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler.
This news took fans by surprise as Carrey and Sandler are the last actors fans can think of starring in a Marvel film. Although Latino Review claims to have good sources, could this be a rumor? The source even suggests that the role in question is for Rocket Raccoon – who is described as loud-mouthed. Perhaps Marvel wants a bit of comic relief?
In more “Guardians of the Galaxy” news, Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell, and Cam Gigandet are reading for the role of Peter Quill – the half human, half alien hero.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” will be directed by James Gunn and is scheduled for a release date on August 1, 2014.
