It’s all over the web this Wednesday afternoon: the “Guardians of the Galaxy” post-credit scene has leaked online! This is a pretty big deal, since production wanted fans to be the first to see the scenes when it premieres in theaters and did not show it at press screenings. Vulture was one of the first sources to capture the leak. Read on if you want the post-credit sequence spoiled.

A bit unfair that Marvel has been hiding their famous credit scenes from press at screenings. But I have to say that it does add a lot of anticipation when I go watch the film again. I have not seen “Guardians of the Galaxy” yet, so this leak is a great little treat.

The post-credit scene shows, “the least likely character that Marvel owns the rights to….some believe Marvel intentionally leaked this as a fake out,” the source says. Hmm, could it be fake? Either way, “Guardians of the Galaxy” is said to come with two bonus scenes (like most Marvel installments), a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene.

The leaked scene has already been taken down, but you might still be able to catch it at Under the Gun Review. It opens up with The Collector (Benecio del Toro) beaten up and sitting in a room with Cosmo. The dog licks The Collector’s face and a voice asks, “Why do you let him lick you like that for?” The camera shows Howard the Duck as he says, “Gross!” The screen then reads, “Howard the Duck created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik.”

Although funny, I hope there’s another more “spoilery” scene at the mid-credits. “Guardians of the Galaxy” arrives to theaters tomorrow night, Thursday, July 31.
