According to Comic Book Resources on April 1, Infinite Comics will be releasing the prequel comic book to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. Fans can download comic books online via the Marvel Comics Digital Storefront right now.

The publication is written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning with artwork drawn by Andrea DiVito. The events in the comic book will precede that of the film directed by James Gunn and the story focuses on Gamora. With a gambit of tie-ins within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this story also makes strides in weaving itself into the mix, too.

It has been rather unexpected that the Infinite Comic as made it's release considering it had a small amount of fan following, but it seems that there's a major push to get these little known characters more well-known.

"Tonally I think it's absolutely in keeping with our 'Guardians' run as you would recognize it but it has its own flavor," Abnett said of this week's print prelude in February. "That's something I worked hard to maintain in those Prelude stories".

"Guardians of the Galaxy Prequel Infinite Comic" is available at this time via digital download and will be made available to comic retailers the following week.

Also, make sure to go see James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" film come Aug. 1.
