Guard pregnant by cop killer; suspected of unlawful sexual abuse on a ward

News that a Federal Bureau of Prisons guard named Nancy Gonzalez allegedly had sex with and later became pregnant by a convicted cop killer who had been locked up in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center was revealed. According to CNN on Feb. 5, that is the prison where Gonzalez worked.

Upon learning of this situation, 29-year-old Gonzalez was arrested after a federal complaint had been filed. Her formal charge? Suspicion of unlawful sexual abuse on a ward.

This is not the only situation of this nature for which Gonzalez was said to be involved. In 2012, this prison guard took up with a couple of inmates held at the New York borough's prison.

And, although these inmates were not officially named, CNN has learned from an unnamed source that one of those individuals is Ronell Wilson, who is said to be the dad in waiting. That said, both parties have formally stated that this baby belongs to Wilson, according to MSN via NBC 4 New York.

By way of background, this future father was convicted of killing two law enforcement officers in a high profile case. As a result, Wilson was initially sentenced to death for murdering undercover police officers James Nemorin and Rodney Andrews. Wilson was said to have shot the detectives in the back of their heads as the pair sat in a parked car in Staten Island and because of this Ronell Wilson received New York's first federal death sentence in more than half a century.

After that very strict sentence was issued, that same sentence was overturned by an appellate court on a procedural technicality on June 30, 2010. Because of that decision, a fresh jury will need to decide if Wilson will once again be given the death sentence. His other option would be to live out his life in prison. This may happen because Wilson's attorneys are said to be appealing his eligibility for the death penalty, claiming the man is mentally disabled.

Meanwhile, prison guard Nancy Gonzalez, who is now eight months pregnant, was released on $150,000 bail. If convicted, the Long Island resident could be put behind bars for up to 15 years.

As for why this pregnant prison guard got involved with the alleged cop killer in a sexual way, Gonzalez reportedly said that she "kind of got sucked into [Ronell Wilson's] world." She allegedly contended that by giving Wilson a child, she would be giving this convicted criminal "some kind of hope." Talk about looking for love in all the wrong places.
