A guard got pregnant by a cop killer in Brooklyn. On Feb. 5, New York Magazine reported that a female corrections officer has been charged with sexual abuse of an inmate after having inappropriate relations with the convicted murderer. Nancy Gonzalez is 8 months pregnant with the inmate's baby.
Ronell Wilson is the baby's father. According to the report, killed two undercover police officers in 2003 and was sentenced to death. In an appeal, Wilson had the death penalty overturned -- his defense claiming that he was "mentally retarded." So now he's awaiting a trial for re-sentencing and he had sexual relations with a corrections officer in the mean time.
The guard who got pregnant by the cop killer has a complicated story of her own. She evidently found some sort of common ground with the convicted murdered and built a relationship with him. They carried on their "relationship" for four months and everyone in the prison knew about it apparently. Dating a criminal was nothing new for Gonzalez, however, who had a "boyfriend" in state prison. She made a phone call to him and confessed her affair with Wilson.
"I took a chance because I was so vulnerable and wanted to be loved and now I am carrying his child. Why not give him a child as far as giving him some kind of hope," Gonzalez said in the recorded phone call.
The guard who is pregnant by the cop killer may end up behind bars herself. Her child's life already has a grim outlook.
