Online petition requesting PC version of GTA V nearing 400,000 signatures. PC players eager to mod.
Mike Julliard’s “Rockstar: Release GTA V on PC” petition has reached over 378,000 signatures today, up 28,000 from this morning. The petition, found on Change.org simply requests that Rockstar Games’s highly anticipated GTA V come to PC - not only for graphical clarity, but for modding implications.
“GTA games have been a large part of so many lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform,” Julliard’s petition reads. “Things like [modding] have always been a huge part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.”
Rockstar Games has gone on the record stating that a PC version of the sandbox blockbuster is “up for consideration.” While this isn’t exactly a yes, it’s most certainly not a no. To be fair, Grand Theft Auto IV did release for PC in 2008, though not until December, eight months after its initial release on Xbox 360 and PS3 in April. And eight months in game-wait-time is approximately 4 years, we’re told.
In truth, the likelihood of GTA V coming to PC is good, though like its predecessors, may have to wait a little ways down the road before modders and PC players take Los Santos by storm.
Grand Theft Auto V releases tomorrow for Xbox 360 and PS3. You can find our review here.
