While fans await the release of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V next month, more details continue to come out about the title’s ambitious multiplayer mode. Many of these features were brought to light in a report by Gameranx on Monday in which an interview between Spanish video game website 3D Juegos and Rockstar’s Leslie Benzies was translated.
First off, as is already known, gamers will access their multiplayer character from the game’s character selection wheel after GTA Online officially launches on Oct 1. However, a new piece of information that was revealed is the fact that the camera will still zoom out and pan back towards the multiplayer character just as it does when switching between and of the single player campaign’s playable characters. During this continuous overhead animation, the game will seamlessly switch to multiplayer while beginning matchmaking at the same time.
As far as the user generated missions for GTA Online, players will have a wide range of tools at their disposal in order to create their own races and more. Gamers will be able to set the time of day or even decide the current weather conditions for when their custom content is played.
Grand Theft Auto V releases for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on Sept 17, while access to GTA Online will become patched into the game on Oct 1.
