Fans of Grand Theft Auto V will be treated to a free title update from Rockstar Games this Friday in honor of Valentine’s Day which will bring new content to both the single-player campaign as well as the game’s multiplayer mode, GTA Online. The developer announced on Tuesday that The Valentine’s Day Massacre Special update will become available to download starting Feb 14. During the announcement for the Valentine’s event, Rockstar Games also informed players that they will be releasing new details regarding Online Heist missions soon.

The Valentine’s Day update will add a new weapon, vehicle and clothing to story mode and GTA Online. All of the new content is themed after 1920s era gangsters. In the single-player game, fans will automatically receive the new items in their inventory or garage while the content must be purchased with in-game money within GTA Online.

In addition to the new items coming to all modes of GTA V, 10 new missions are also being added to GTA Online’s mission playlist. All content, including the special jobs, will only be available for a limited time. However, players will be able to keep access to any of the equipment that they purchased during the event.

Grand Theft Auto V is out now on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The Valentine’s Day Massacre Special update will be ready for download this Friday. Besides promising more information on Online Heists soon, Rockstar Games also plans to update players on new updates for an expansion to the mission creation tools in the near future.
