During the morning hours of Oct 1, the online multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V is scheduled to go live after a title update is released via Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. While providing additional details regarding GTA Online on Monday, Rockstar Games revealed that Social Club members will be able to select Red Dead Redemption’s John Marston as their parent.
In GTA Online, gamers’ in-game appearance will be decided upon a heredity system which involves players choosing their parents. By joining Rockstar Games’ Social Club for free, fans will be given the opportunity to play as the child of outlaw John Marston.
This hereditary-based character creation system, as the developer calls it, allows players to choose both a mother and a father for their online character. Then they will be asked a number of lifestyle choices such as their sleeping habits, social activities, and criminal history. The answers to these questions will determine the visual look of each player’s in-game avatar within GTA 5’s online multiplayer mode.
Grand Theft Auto V is out now for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. GTA Online will become available after a title update is made ready to download on the morning of Oct 1.
