Rockstar Games posted new details, including the potential release date, for the content creator section of “GTA Online.” According to an update from Rockstar Newswire on Dec. 9, the publisher is planning to release a beta shortly.
The play test will give players the opportunity to create their own custom matches. Among the types that can be customized include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, “GTA” Race and Rally Race. They can also download, play, share and critique the works of others. You can find a few screenshots of the content creator, along with other images from “GTA Online,” in the slideshow to the left of this article and the description below:
This week, we will give you the first chance to build your own content in GTA Online (and play content others have made) with the release of the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta. With access to some of the same tools as our own game design and development team, you can craft your own custom blood-soaked gunfights, high-octane street races, screaming jet dogfights and more. You’ll also be able to publish your original Deathmatches and Races via the Rockstar Games Social Club for the whole community to discover, download, play, rate and share.
The Rockstar North development team is currently planning to release the beta for the content creator on Dec. 10. The best contributions from the community will be highlighted under the Rockstar Verified Jobs category. Furthermore, play testers can also provide feedback on glitches and other issues by using email.
The content creator was initially announced to come out during the launch time frame of “GTA Online” but was eventually delayed. Rockstar Games did not disclose when the final version of the user-generated features will be released.
“GTA 5” was first made available on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 current-generation consoles on Sept. 17. The video game features “GTA Online,” which launched on Oct. 1.
