Rockstar Games announced Thursday that it is working on a title update for Grand Theft Auto V to fix the continuing issues with the game's PS3 and Xbox 360 multiplayer component, Grand Theft Auto Online.
"We're currently working on a title update for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to address commonly reported issues with GTA Online," Rockstar wrote in an update to its website. "We hope to have it out for download as soon as tomorrow."
GTA Online has not been playable for a large number of GTA V owners on either the PS3 or Xbox 360 since it launched on Tuesday. Most get hung up somewhere during the initial tutorial mission either while it loads or while the mission is trying to end and save.
For those that are still stuck on the tutorial mission, Rockstar recommends the following.
Some players have reported being able to get into the Tutorial race by re-downloading the Title Update, which can be deleted from Xbox Home or the PS3 XMB (Game Data Utility, NOT save data). Others reported having luck by selecting "Swap Character" from the Online tab within the pause menu, deleting the character that was unable to get into the tutorial, and then creating a new character. Going into GTAO in Solo mode may also help to allow completion of the tutorial. Some who were experience this issue have been able to get in just by trying again later.
A number of individuals have been able to get past the tutorial mission though with some reporting that either their save file gets corrupted affecting the game's story mode or their online character somehow ends up deleted. Meanwhile, others have reported trouble getting jobs to load or timing out when trying to join with other.
Prior to its launch, Rockstar Games said that GTA Online would have a rough start. Whether they expected it to be this rough is the question but hopefully Friday's update will get the majority of people running multiplayer.
