'GTA 5' stands alone and will blow people away, says Take-Two CEO (Photos)

Although “GTA 5” has been delayed until Sept. 17, which will possibly run into the release of next generation systems from Sony and Microsoft, Take-Two still believes that “GTA 5” will completely blow people away once it is released.

Brought to our attention by an article posted by GameZone today, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick states that “GTA 5” is a titles that will stand on its own, it will not be affected by outside factors such as those listed above. "Look, Grand Theft Auto stands alone. It’s a unique property. And I think we’re all extraordinarily excited about this title, and we think it’s just going to blow people away frankly at a level I don’t think anyone properly anticipates yet."

“GTA 5” was initially planned for a spring of 2013 release date. Through the announcement of this delay, Rockstar Games insists that they needed extra development time to get this title on the level that fans of the franchise deserves.

Following up, Zelnick states "As it happens, I think September is a great window. The fact is it’s a very open field that early in the fall. And as between late spring heading into the summer doldrums or early fall in an open field, that wasn’t the reason that the title moved, but I think it happens to be a terrific time to launch it."
