The rumors come from more code hacks, similar to the ones that previous pointed toward GTA 5 possibly coming to PC and PS4 and recently that Grand Theft Auto Online will limit the number of players in the game at one time to 32.
According to the report, Kotaku sifted through the threads of Reddit, finding posters who claim they’ve found references to the microtransactions in files on Rockstar’s servers, which are currently accessible though Grand Theft Auto Online has yet to launch.
The microtransaction specifically referenced –– dubbed the “Red Shark Cash Card” –– would allow for GTA 5 multiplayers to purchase in-game money, directly deposited into the character’s banking account on Grand Theft Auto Online.
Here’s the description:
“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting.”
Grand Theft Auto Online will go live on Oct. 1 and will be accessible through the Xbox Live marketplace and the PlayStation Network for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
