‘GTA 5’ publisher explains partnership with company behind ‘WWE ‘13’ (Photos)

Jason Argent has provided an explanation behind the partnership with WWE, the company who had previously worked with THQ on “WWE ’13.” According to a report by Neoseeker on Feb. 22, the vice president of Take-Two Interactive (the publisher of the upcoming “GTA 5”) believed that the WWE franchise fits well with what they were doing with the “NBA 2K” series. He also felt that they could add “value” to the current and future titles. You can check out some screens from “GTA 5” and “WWE’ 13” in the slideshow at the top of this article as well as the comments from Jason Argent below (courtesy of Neoseeker):

We’ve looked at the WWE franchise with respect for a long time. There are a lot of similarities that we see, from the size of the franchise to the demographics of the franchise, and they fit in very well with what we’ve done with NBA in terms of development and marketing. We thought we could add tremendous value right off the bat and down the road. We’re super excited to get an agreement in place.

“WWE ’13” came out for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 systems in the North American region on Oct. 30, 2012. The wrestling video game would be the last title in the series to be published by THQ. “GTA 5” has a Sept. 17 release date for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
