‘GTA 5’ PSN sales compared to ‘Battlefield 4,’ ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ and more

Sony Computer Entertainment has released a list of the best-selling PSN games on the Playstation 3 for the month of November. According to a report from the Official U.S. Playstation Blog on Dec. 6, “GTA 5” was outsold by “Battlefield 4” and “Call of Duty: Ghosts.”

The latest “Call of Duty” installment took the top for November, followed by the fourth main entry of the “Battlefield” series. “GTA 5” ended up dropping off to third after becoming the best-selling PSN title on the current-generation console for the previous two months. “GTA 5” was released on Sept. 17 while “Battlefield 4” came out on Oct. 29. “Call of Duty: Ghosts” was made available on Nov. 5, beating out both titles last month in terms of digital sales. The two first-person shooters also performed well on the PSN chart for the PS4, a next-generation system that was released on Nov. 15.

Rockstar Games published “GTA 5,” which was developed by its internal Rockstar North studio. “Battlefield 4” was designed by Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment and distributed by Electronic Arts. Finally, Activision is the publisher for “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” a project that was developed by Infinity Ward, Neversoft and Raven Software.
