Rockstar Games has clarified some details regarding the digital release of “GTA 5” on the Playstation Store of the Playstation 3. According to a report by IGN on Aug. 21, the latest video game from the “Grand Theft Auto” franchsie will be available at midnight on the digital storefront of Sony’s next-generation system.
However, “GTA 5” may not be available right away on all time zones. A representative at Rockstar Games stated that the digital version can be downloaded starting on 12:00 a.m. PST. Players from later time zones may have to wait a few extra hours after midnight.
Furthermore, “GTA 5” won’t support pre-loading, which is a feature that allows customers the ability to download a video game early before it is unlocked at midnight. As a result, players will need to wait until the digital version has been completely downloaded and installed before launching the open-world action-adventure title.
The Playstation Store is now accepting pre-orders for “GTA 5.” Customers who choose to reserve the digital version will be offered a deal in which they can purchase another Rockstar Games title from the same storefront at a 75 percent discount.
The latest “Grand Theft Auto” installment will be out on Sept. 17 for the aforementioned Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.
