‘Grand Theft Auto V’ PS3 and Xbox 360 sales compared by Take-Two Interactive

GTA 5” has reached a new sales milestone. According to a report from Gamepur on Feb. 4, Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the open-world action-adventure video game has sold 32.5 million units on the two current-generation consoles.

The PS3 version got a majority of the sales at 17.4 million copies while the rest of the units sold came from the Xbox 360 iteration. “Grand Theft Auto V” ended up being the best-selling game ever for each of the two platforms. Take-Two Interactive also noted that “GTA 5” on the PS3 and Xbox 360 was the highest-rated video game of 2013 with an average review score of 9.7 out of 10.

The company is also expecting the software product to continue selling in 2014. Due to the success of “Grand Theft Auto V,” along with the strong sales of “NBA 2K14,” Take-Two Interactive decided to increased its “financial outlook for fiscal year 2014.” You can find a statement from the corporation to investors regarding the “GTA 5” sales below:

Grand Theft Auto V finished as the best-selling video game of 2013. To date, Grand Theft Auto V has sold-in more than 32.5 million units.

The sales for “Grand Theft Auto V” will be boosted significantly if the video game were to be ported to other platforms such as the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Despite strong interests from consumers, Take-Two Interactive has not yet announced any plans to bring the software product to the three gaming systems.
