The petition regarding the PC port of the recently-released console-exclusive video game, “GTA 5,” is closing in on another new milestone. According to a report by MCVUK on Oct. 3, the online campaign from fans has nearly reached 600,000 signatures.

The petition was started 11 months ago by Mike Julliard from Toronto, Canada. Many individuals from around the world have signed the virtual document since. It recently gained more notoriety with the launch of “GTA 5” on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Mike Julliard stated in the petition that “it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform.” He also disclosed that the PC version of the open-world action-adventure video game will benefit greatly from custom mods, concluding that the port will “make many people very happy.”

“GTA 5” was formally released for the two aforementioned current-generation platforms on Sept. 17. The multiplayer mode, “Grand Theft Auto Online,” launched on Oct. 1. The Rockstar North studio behind the development of the latest “Grand Theft Auto” installment is currently trying to fix connection errors and other issues regarding the game’s multiplayer. The development team is also planning to periodically add new content to “Grand Theft Auto Online.”

A potential PC port of “GTA 5” has not yet been confirmed or denied Rockstar Games, the publishing company behind the software product. You can check out some screens from the console versions in the slideshow near the top of this article.
