Michael Pachter has commented about the release date for a PS4 and Xbox 720 “Grand Theft Auto” video game, which may be a port of “GTA 5” or the completely new “GTA 6.” According to a report by Pardaphash on March 18, the analyst at Wedbush Securities disclosed that Rockstar Games could take up to four years to bring the series to the next-generation systems. With the PS4 and Xbox 720 slated to come out later this year, “GTA 5” or “GTA 6” won’t be released until at least 2017. You can check out some screens from the fifth main game of the “Grand Theft Auto” series in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Michael Pachter below (courtesy of Pardaphash):
If you go back to the PlayStation 3 E3, the 06 E3, they showed Red Dead Redemption, remember? What year did that bad boy come out? 2010? It only took four years, and it was shown, it was shown during a launch event. So that's about the pace I think Rockstar is on. I think Rockstar will have a game before the PS5.
“GTA 5” will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming consoles in North America on Sept. 17. The open-world action-adventure video game, which is being developed by Rockstar North and will be published by Rockstar Games, has been previously rumored to be ported to the PS4 and Xbox 720.
