The online petition calling for the PC port of the recently-released console-exclusive, “GTA 5,” has surpassed another milestone. According to a report by The Escapist Magazine on Oct. 19, the Change.org form managed to reach 600,000 signatures.
The online petition was first started last year by a fan named Mike Julliard. The petition starter mentioned that “GTA 5” should be released on the PC since it is the “most powerful platform” in addition to providing the ability to create custom mods. The online petition accumulated 250,000 signatures as of July of this year. The number eventually reached 375,000 signatures at the console launch of the open-world action-adventure video game.
PC gamers may be getting their wish based on recent leaks. Files mentioning the port to personal computers were spotted in the Xbox 360 version. Furthermore, several alleged insiders also revealed that the fifth main installment from the “Grand Theft Auto” series should be coming out to the PC sometime early next year. The previously mainline installments were released on consoles first before eventually being ported to personal computers.
“GTA 5” was released by Rockstar Games for the Playstation 3 and the aforementioned Xbox 360 in the middle of last month. The console versions of open-world action-adventure video game were developed by Rockstar North, the main development studio for the “Grand Theft Auto” series.
