In GTA 5 there will be online multiplayer modes, but there will be no co-op story. It’s unknown exactly what they have in store for multiplayer, but it is confirmed that they have improved the multiplayer experience yet again.
There will probably be death matches, races, etc. but as far as new additions, a lot of people believe that they will be adding golf to the mix, which will be a funny addition to a game as intense as Grand Theft Auto.
There’s also some speculation about poker and other card games, but the validity of such statements is currently unknown.
There should be a free mode where players can wander around the city together or separately, but again, nothing can be known for certain until the official release. So until then we’ll just have to settle with the information we have, such as the enormous map, the wallpapers, the screenshots, the cars, and the forums.
