The potential North Yankton DLC leak has been clarified by the same individual that allegedly found the files hidden in the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of “GTA 5.” According to a report by Gameranx on Oct. 29, a person going by the alias of “theNGclan” stated that the discovery was part of an “elaborate hoax.”
The individual revealed that he was not happy with several popular threads from the GTA Forums website. As a result, he decided to falsify a new rumor while adding more “leaked” details as the anecdote began to pick up steam.
The fake North Yankton DLC was supposed to take place in a new snowy region based on North Dakota. The story-based expansion features Niko from “GTA 4” as a playable character in addition to several other new individuals, radio stations and weapons. The story focuses on Michael taking his gaming-obsessed son to a getaway.
Rockstar Games, the company that released “GTA 5” for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 17, has not yet formally confirmed any story-based expansions. The company launched two DLC, “The Lost and Damned” and “The Ballad of Gay Tony” for “GTA 5.” A representative did recently state that new downloadable contents are going to be made announced for the single-player campaign and “Grand Theft Auto Online” multiplayer mode of the open-world action-adventure video game sometime this week.
