Nick Caplin has provided an explanation in regards to the recently leaks that have been posted for the Playstation 3 version of the upcoming multiplatform video game, “GTA 5.” According to a statement from the Official European Playstation Blog on Aug. 24, the head of communications at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe stated that a few users were able to download the files of the latest “Grand Theft Auto” from the Playstation Store in Europe.
As a result, the assets from the files were posted online, leading to several leaks including the game’s soundtrack and loading themes. Nick Caplin has confirmed that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has removed the files from “GTA 5” from the European Playstation Store. He also apologized to Rockstar Games and fans of the “Grand Theft Auto” series for the spoilers.
“GTA 5” was also available for pre-order on the North American Playstation Store although users from that region weren’t able to pre-load the video game in advance like in Europe. The open-world action-adventure video game takes up 18 GB of free space on the hard drive of the Playstation 3.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe would likely put up the files again once “GTA 5” is officially released for the European regions on Sept. 17. The same video game is also coming out on the Xbox 360. You can take a look at several gameplay screens in the slideshow near the top of this article.
